California has two unique and fascinating desert national parks – Death Valley and Joshua Tree. Death Valley is one of the driest places on earth and parts of the valley are below sea level. In Joshua Tree, kids can climb on boulders in all sorts of fantastic shapes, including Skull Rock, and explore different rich and varied desert environments. |

| Tip: The best times to visit Joshua Tree and Death Valley National Parks are October through April. In summer, temperatures soar over 100 - 110 degrees and it's just too hot. |
