disney's hollywood studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios is perfect for kids who are interested in all the behind-the-scenes stuff about movie making and fabulous Disney animation. Older kids will get the most out of this theme park, but there's plenty for little kids, such as Voyage of the Little Mermaid musical show, the imaginative Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area and 3-D Muppets movie.

At the Entrance –

Live Shows

Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular Find out how they do those stunts in the Indiana Jones movies. In an action-packed Cairo scene, watch characters playing Indy and Marion fend off their attackers with loud punches and whips cracking, fall off rooftops, avoid a runaway plane, and for the big finale, narrowly escape a truck loaded with explosives that catches on fire and flips over!

Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show A high energy, high velocity stunt show with long car chases, cars skidding furiously (and somehow not crashing into each other), driving off the top of semi trucks, motorcycles buzzing in and out, jet skis racing on a collision course in a narrow canal.

Beauty and the Beast Full-on theatrical presentation with music, live actors, lavish costumes (love those ball gowns), and the familiar story of Belle and the Beast, aided by Mrs. Potts, Cogsworth and Lumiere.

Voyage of the Little Mermaid A multimedia show that brings to life the fairy tale of the little mermaid, Ariel, who falls in love with Prince Eric, with live actors, life-size puppets (Ursula, Flounder and Sebastian are delightful) and favorite songs from the movie.

Tip: For all the live shows, be sure to arrive at least 15 minutes before show time to get a good seat.
Animation and Movies –
The Magic of Disney Animation – This is for kids who yearn to be an animator. There's 10 minute feature, then an artist will teach you how to draw Disney animation with a pencil and paper.

Muppet Vision 3-D – Put on 3-D glasses to see the Muppets as you've never seen them before. Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear are in a tizzy, with lots of gags, laughter, cannons and fireworks.

Rides

Star Tours – Take a simulator ride on a StarSpeeder spaceship, hurtling through space at lightspeed (the seats rock back and forth, so you really feel the acceleration), flying inside a comet, and of course, battling against TIE fighters and the Death Star.

Jedi Training Academy Next door to Star Tours, kids can learn techniques and try their hand with a lightsaber against Darth Vader.

Toy Story Midway Mania – Fun for everyone in the family. Step in the wacky world of midway carnival games, where everyone gets to play. As the tram stops at each game, shoot at targets to score points. With 3-D glasses the effects are terrific, and the games all have hilarious characters from Toy Story.

Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – Older kids and teens will get their thrills with this drop fall ride. Step into a spooky Hollywood hotel, take the elevator up to the 13th floor, and then ...

Tip: For all these rides, get a FASTPAST timed ticket to skip long wait times in line.

Play area Honey, I Shrunk the Kids play area is just super, and parents and grandparents will want to hang out here too. Blades of grass tower above, a paper clip is huge, a giant hose leaks water, you're now the size of an ant. Kids will have a great time finding their way through a netting web, climbing over bugs, sliding through logs.

Fantasmic Fantasmic really is fantastic, a lights, water, music, nighttime extravaganza. You'll want to get to the amphitheater early to get good seats. Check out your Times Guide for show times.
Photos with a Disney character Kids can have their picture taken with Disney animated characters, Mickey and friends, plus all your Pixar favorites.
