|The Sonoma Coast begins at Bodega Bay, and extends north past Fort Ross, which was a Russian settlement in the 19th century. The wide Russian River, popular with families for boating in summer, flows from Guerneville into the ocean around Jenner. Inland, hike through majestic coast redwoods. All along the Sonoma Coast, there's gray whale watching in winter, and year round, kids can look for otters, sea lions and harbor seals in the waves.|
|Hagemann Ranch Trout Farm (Highway 1, south of Bodega Bay) - Kids will enjoy fishing for rainbow trout in the pond at the Hagemann Ranch Trout Farm. You don't need to bring anything – bait and fishing rods are provided, you pay for the fish you catch. They will clean your fish and pack them on ice. Picnic tables and barbeques. June – September.|
