Arundel Castle Visit one of the great historic
castles of England, established by Robert de Montgomery, Earl of Arundel
in 1068. In later centuries, the Dukes of Norfolk called this home, and
they were in the thick of Tudor politics one Duke was beheaded for
his association with Mary Queen of Scots, another helped lead the Armada
against the Spanish. The castle and grounds have been beautifully restored,
and the castle is chock full of armor, stained glass, tapestries, dioramas
bring history to life. The castle is open from April to October, closed
on Saturdays, except in August. Throughout the year are special events falconry demonstrations,
jousting, and historic re-enactments. |

Tangmere Military Aviation Museum (near Chichester) This
museum is dedicated to the history of aviation, and they have a large
collection of airplanes, exhibits from the Battle of Britain, and flight
simulators. Open February to November. |
