S.S. Klondike National Historic Site – Check out the S.S. Klondike sternwheeler, a reminder of steamboat transportation on the Yukon River, before there were roads connecting Whitehorse with the surroundings areas. The S.S. Klondike was built in the early 20th century, and passengers could travel in comfort. To see inside the S.S. Klondike, take a guided tour that includes a 20 min. video, and walk around the boat that lasts about 45 min. Tours are daily (on the hour and half hour), May to September. |

Rotary Peace Park – Across from the S.S. Klondike is a large grassy area, which has playground with climbing structures, slides, swings, a water play area (perfect on a hot day), picnic tables and benches along the river.From the park you can follow the Millennium Trail on both sides of the river. |

Whitehorse Waterfront Trolley – In summer, ride the yellow trolley along the river from Rotary Peace Park to Spook Creek Station, and back. The beautifully restored trolley runs on the old tracks of the White Pass and Yukon Railway. |

MacBride Museum of Yukon History – Stop into the Natural World Gallery for excellent full-size dioramas of Yukon wildlife – polar bear, caribou, snowy owl, arctic wolf, Dall sheep, mountain goats, river otter, bald eagle, moose, beavers, grizzly bear, lynx and wood bison. In the Kids Discovery Zone, dress up in red jackets like the North West Mounted Police, and touch a Dall sheep horn, bear fur and caribou antler | ||
In the exhibits outdoors, there's Sam McGee's 1899 log cabin, ore cars, blacksmithing shop, crumbling wooden horse-drawn wagons, and a black steam engine of the White Pass and Yukon Railway. Also, pan for gold at the trough (check for times at the front desk, fee applies). |

Beringia Interpretive Centre – See spectacular ice age skeletons from the northern Yukon – woolly mammoth, giant short-faced bear, scimitar cat, steppe bison, ground sloth, plus a full size construction of a woolly mammoth. Learn about the early people living in the area 15,000 - 25,000 years ago and try to throw an atlatl outdoors. Touch a woolly mammoth femur, pelts of Dall sheep, red fox, grizzly bear, beaver, wolverine, and more. A play area for little kids has books and puzzles. |

Yukon Transportation Museum – Next door to Berengia is the Yukon Transportation Museum, with exhibits of the wide variety of things people used to get around in the Yukon for the past 100 years– float planes, rugged utility trucks, a sleigh to deliver the mail, steam locomotives, dog sleds, plus a working model of the White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad. |
