The Calgary International Children’s Festival - The festival runs for five days in May at the EPCOR Centre for the Performing Arts and showcases children’s performers in music, theater, and dance from around the world. There’s something for children of all ages in schedule, and also workshops for older children. |

Take in a sports game - If your children are budding sports enthusiasts, then consider a night out at the game. There are several professional sports teams in the city. If football is your thing, take in the Calgary Stampeders, if its ice-hockey then try for tickets for the Calgary Flames who play at the Saddledome (in the Stampede grounds) or the hard-hitting major junior hockey team, the Calgary Hitmen. |

Tip: It’s possible to visit Calgary for several days without getting in a car, but you need a vehicle if you want to venture beyond the downtown core or during the winter months when the temperature often drops below zero. |
