Watsons Bay – Take the ferry from Circular Quay to Watsons Bay (the ferry ride through Sydney Harbour with stops along the way is fun itself). |

Right where the ferry docks is a flat sand beach, trees, grass, a fun places for kids to wade and play in the water. Bring a picnic and have lunch under the trees. |

 The Gap – Walk west across Roberton Park to The Gap, where the deep blue Pacific Ocean crashes against dramatic sandstone cliffs. A pathway goes north and south on top of the cliffs, and is a spectacular walk. |

It's a short distance walking south to Jacob's Ladder Lookout. For a longer walk, go north on the pathway to the Dunbar anchor. In 1857, a ship named the Dunbar was shipwrecked on the rocks nearby, only one person survived. |

Tip: For safety, the path is completely fenced with a guard rail. |

Robertson Park – Little kids can play in a shaded playground with climbing structures, springy things, benches, and lots of grass to run around. |

Bondi and Bronte Beaches – Bondi (pronounced Bond-eye) and Bronte Beaches are both good beaches for families (although Bronte is a favorite). Each are long flat white sand beaches, where kids can spend the day swimming, splashing in the waves, buildings sand castles. Changing rooms and showers are convenient (scrape off the sand before you head home), boogie boards and umbrellas are available for rent at Bondi. Remember to swim between the red and yellow flags, indicating where it's safe to swim. |

Coast walk – Take a lovely walk from Bondi to Bronte Beach on the boardwalk. Between the two beaches, stop into the cafe at Tamarama Beach for cold drinks or a coffee, there's also a small playground. |
