Tip: Morro Bay is dog friendly, but dogs are not allowed on this beach. |

Trail to Morro Rock From the park take the paved trail, at the dunes, follow the trail south. 3.5 miles round trip to Morro Rock and back. |

Fly kites It's windy at Morro Bay, and the long sand beach is perfect for kite flying in winter. (March to November, no kite flying on this beach to protect birds nesting in the dunes). Farmer's Kites Surreys and More on Front St. has a good selection of kites. |

Tide pools North of the campground are tide pools in the rocks. Check the tide tables to find low tides, then explore tide pools looking for shore crabs, anemones, turban snails, sea slugs, hermit crabs in clear little pools. Also look for sand dollars washed up on the beach. |
