Gov. Tom McCall Waterfront Park – The park, with grass, trees and bike path, extends all the way from Steel Bridge down to RiverPlace. Salmon Street Springs is a spiffy fountain where kids can play in the water (bring a swimsuit, or just shirt and shorts and plan on getting wet). |

Willamette River Cruises – Go for a two hour cruise on the river with Portland Spirit. Cruise south up the Willamette River, passing under bridges and along wildernessy Ross Island. Children can learn about the boat and receive an honorary captain’s certificate. Kids are half price for lunch and brunch cruises. |

Take a bike ride – Rent bikes at Waterfront Bicycles, and go north along the bike path to the Steel Bridge. Cross over the Steel Bridge (it has a pedestrian and bike only section so it’s easy to cross), then bike down the east side of the river along Eastbank Esplanade. Bigger kids will enjoy a longer ride all the way down to Selwood Park. |

RiverPlace – It’s just a nice walk along the waterfront park to RiverPlace and the Marquam Bridge. RiverPlace has cafes and restaurants, ice cream shop and bakery. |
