Singapore – East Coast

East Coast Park – In East Coast Park (beyond Changi Airport), rent bikes or rollerblades and ride around on well maintained paths. Take along the kids' swimsuits, go for a swim, play in the shallow water, and kids can build sandcastles on the beach. Bring a picnic, and relax under the palm trees. This is a good spot to fly kites.
Pasir Ris Park – Go birdwatching or look for mud crabs in the mangrove swamps – the park has board walks and an observation tower that makes it easy to do. This seaside park is perfect for kite flying and swimming. Children's Adventure Land is a large children's playground, with a maze garden and "space-net" jungle gym. Rent bikes or skates to ride through the park.
Escape Theme Park (Pasir Ris Close) – Want to just kick back and relax for an afternoon? The park has action-packed roller coaster rides and go-karts for bigger kids, kiddie bumper boats, miniature train, and rides for little ones, strollers and umbrellas for rent.
Malay Village (Geylang Serai) – Find out what life is like in a traditional Malay community, the kampong. Check out the colorfully painted boat (prahu) or ox-cart, essential tools of fishing and farming communities. The cultural museum has exhibits of musical instruments, shadow puppets, a bridal chamber (see what a Malay bride wears). Don't miss the gamelan concerts, drama performances or Lagenda Fantasi, a multimedia show of traditional legends.
