Lincoln City

Lincoln City is one of our favorite places to stay for a week on the Oregon Cast. The city extends from Siletz Bay at south end, to Roads End at the north.

Miles of sandy beaches, bring along kites and beach toys, you're set for the day. At Devils Lake, swimming, kayaking, camp in a yurt. Hike to Cascade Head for panoramic views or Drift Creek Falls with suspension bridge, plus nature trails in forests and wetlands.

    Lincoln City Kite Festival

Lincoln City is called the "Kite Capital of the World" with two kite festivals in June and September. Lincoln City has big long beaches and above all, reliable winds to lift huge kites into the air. Festival is free and fun for families.

Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge –

Alder Island Nature Trail is a short loop trail (.6 mile) along the Siletz River and wetlands. It's an easy level trail lined with ferns, shaded under the trees, benches along the trail. Look for ducks, herons, eagles, river otters in the Siletz River.

Finders Keepers – Each year, "Float Fairies" put out 3,000+ hand-blown glass floats on the beaches. Walking around on the beach, keep your eyes open for a float in the sand or under a piece of driftwood. If you find one, it's yours to keep!
